I did it I cut my hair !

Hello hello or as I always say (Ahlan ahlan )

Today will be the second week after shaving/ cutting my hair and it freaking feels amazing

I can tell that people think of me as a professional girl but with a little of spice . I feel as if something changed in me as soon as I said bye bye to my long locks , it’s a bit weird grabbing the back of my neck .. I used to grab the back of my hair and put it on my right shoulder but now all I do is tease the back of my head hehehe it’s a really weird feeling but yet I love the new feeling in my life .

Why did I cut my hair ?

Well there are many things Iam sure that made me want to cut my hair .seeing an amount of girls shaving their hair in 2020 while they were in quarantine , wanting a pixie cut so bad that I saved them on to my Pinterest board saying “ one day Hannah , one day ! “

Well that one day came and it was so fast I didn’t even get to think twice about it

The back story :

I called up Majd ( one of my friends ) I asked him when will he get his next hair cut ?

He said on that very night , I was surprised I thought I would have a week max to prepare my self but I took it as a sign and said hell to it I will do it now , I asked majd to book me an appointment with the hair saloon

Now just so you guys get an idea about me and where I live … I live in Palestine it’s not normal or usual to see a girl with her hair shaved .to be honest it is even frond upon because most of the Arabs here look at it as a girl trying to be a boy .. which in the Muslim religion is a sin !

Dum dum duuuuuuum

So as soon as I called majd I called my mother and told her the big news she was happy for me , you see my mother is from Barbados and she is living in Palestine because she loved my dad and they both lived here and we are still living here I think forever now hehehe .anyways she is okay with me shaving my hair since she used to do crazier haircuts as well , now she did warn me to remember that many men here will look down at me for shaving my hair and that will make many of them run away instead , she is saying that because by the time Iam writing this iam single for a whole year and my mother thought I might be giving a chance for love .. anyways me at the time listened to her and said “ I’ll stay single for another year “

Well well well how the story will change my friends , how the story will change ..

I call up majd asking him if he booked me in the saloon with him and he said yes

He talked to the barber and he doesn’t mind cutting my hair but he is a bit shy because he is not used to cutting woman hair “Palestinian men barbers usually cut men hair only!“

I said he doesn’t have to worry because I know I can make a person feel comfortable around me as fast as possible !

So we go

When I say we I mean me , majd and a friend of majd who is related to me His name is Ameer

Ameer only finds out we are all going to get my hair shaved with them which was a sudden surprise for him because he doesn’t know my character that well .so he asks me to show him a picture of what I want and when I show him he says “ it will look good on you if he knows how to do it “

So I get a bit weirded out thinking the man is not good with hair

But the guys remind me that he is great with cutting and shaving hair it’s just they are scared he would be nervous cutting a girls hair

So we make it up to the barber building and Ameer literally goes to see if there are any men in the barber shop

He comes back saying there are only two people and asks me if I want to go in and I agree to enter with them since they are only two

I enter in the shop with Ameer and majd with my long blonde hair reaching to the end of my back

The two barbers look at me then shake hands with ameer and majd

One barber finishes with his client while smoking his cigarette, then he comes up to majd to see the picture to find out what kind of hair cut I want , the barber at this point looks at me and grabs another cigarette … the poor man thought I had short hair to begin with and thought he would just shave my hair quickly without the feeling of regret that maybe I won’t like my hair short heheh

He then says that he has to move his car then will come back to do my hair. He applied that majd should get his haircut first then he will come back and do mine

Majd sits down with the other barber and he asks him if I know Arabic

Oh that poor poor barber …

Majd looks at me in the mirror and smiles … I know what that means bahaha

Majd said with a grin : no , she know some words

And I looked at ameer that was next to me and smiled knowing we are going to star in a movie heheh

Majd then asked the barber : do you know English .

The barber said : a little

Majd then tells me in broken English : he doesn’t know English

I played the part of the poor foreigner i said : oh he doesn’t know any English ?

Majd then said with no hesitation : no

I then look at ameer and say : oh no he doesn’t know English , what will we do ?

I say that while smiling and laughing

Ameer then says with a grin : oh no

Hehehee Iam laughing thinking about it now

Then majd said : don’t worry I will help

anyways the barber then says Iam just scared she won’t like it in Arabic

I stand up showing him the picture on my phone

I then tell him in Arabic : all I want is like this

He looks astonishing hearing me speak Arabic thinking I learned that word .

He then tells majd : tell her i can do it Iam just scared she won’t like it

I quickly say : I will like it.I want to just chop it off

The barber is frightened at this moment not knowing

1- if Iam sane

2- where did I learn Arabic

Hehe it was too much for him

While he was doing majds hair the other barber walks in

I sit down on the chair then the barber literally grabs my hair moves it all to the left on top of my head then flips it on the right while smoking his cigarette

He then tells me to get up and sit on the hair shower seat thingy

I know that means he will wash my hair knowing this I know my hair will be hard to control after adding water so I tell him just cut half of it then wash my hair but he disagrees and then washes my hair

Then he puts a towel on my hair nervously

And smokes a big chunk off his cigarette and says : okay now we will go upstairs to a woman’s saloon so that she can help me

I looked shocked , majd looks shocked and ameer looks at the barber

We three say together : where upstairs?

The poor Barber nervously says: we are going upstairs for a woman to help him with my hair because he is scared something bad will happen to my hair

Heheh at this point majd is freaking out and ameer is cautious

So I say : okay no problem

Then I show my phone to majd and ameer showing them that if anything weird happens I will call them

Anyways me and the barber go up the stairs of the building and i ask him while we walk in

Are there any woman there now ?

And he looks at me weirdly because he doesn’t know what kind of drama we will go through if there are any other woman in there

We enter and a girl comes up to me and lets the barber wash my hair again

I notice there is another woman that the girl is tending to

I then sit on the chair and she comes up to me and touches my hair delicately

She then asks me : why would you ever go to a mens barber to cut your hair ?

That’s when I state : men barbers are used to shaving hair and leveling the hair as well

She then says: that’s not true I shaved a woman’s hair a week ago

Remember that !! Lol

The woman then puts my hair in a pony tail and tells the barber to cut it

As soon as he grabs the scissors the lady that was in the saloon before me screams in a loud voice : NO!

The poor barber stops and looks at her in the mirror

I know this would happen

The lady proceeded: I don’t like seeing woman cut their hair in front of me , how can you even cut your beautiful long hair ? Don’t do it

I look at the barber and lift a brow , on his face I can see now he understood why I asked if there are woman in the saloon presides me

I tell the barber to cut my hair

He then cuts off the pony tail

I say to the woman : I want to try something new in my life

She then says : I just don’t want you to regret it

I then state: if I regret it I have wigs and my hair grows out fast

Which is true .. I can’t believe how fast it grows

Then the saloon lady tells the barber where to cut more and he hesitates looking at me asking me if he should cut it and me and the saloon lady tell him cut it while the other lady is telling him not to cut it

Hehehe as I said a whole drama show

10 minutes pass then out of no where majd opens up the door so fast without knocking or asking for precision to enter because Iam sure he was worried about me and all he sees is the barber now shaving my hair at the back

I can see from the mirror that majd is scared because he can’t see my full face only the back side and at that point the barber was just shaving away while I was tilting my head forwards

Majd sits on the couch not even in this world… he was sitting with that lady both of them looking at me in the mirror not knowing how it will look when I pick up my head

After a few minutes as soon as I pick up my head I can see the sight of relief on both of their faces

The barber then asks the saloon lady if he should cut my hair on one other angle

And she says : I don’t know do what you think is best because I have never done a haircut like this

Aheeem aheeem remember what she said before ?

Anyways we Finnish with my hair at the woman’s saloon and majd says that my hair looks nice

The saloon woman says : I don’t like people that lie to me

And Iam just like .. whaaaaat ?

Majd at this point is just happy that my hair looks good and isn’t looking weird

I then understand that the saloon lady was so scared that she didn’t do my hair well that she couldn’t tell if it was nice or no because she doubted herself..

So the barber takes us down to his shop and he goes in front of me and majd at this time we hear the men asking : where is the girl ? How is her hair ?

Me and majd enter and at this time there are about four more men in the shop all looking at me and smiling

They then say : oh thank god it looks good

I smile and sit on the seat , the barber comes with the shaving machine again

All the men yell : leave it alone

Hehehe

The barber at this point is on his third cigarette says : Iam just leveling the layers

They all calm down and sit on the couch

After 5 minutes the barber grabs his phone and starts taking videos of my hair and so does majd

Hehehe I can tell from the glimmer in their eyes that my hair was some kind of masterpiece ,

We went home after that and all I kept getting was compliments in the car heheh

It felt like such a relief after all that drama

Oh and to top it all off the next day I had to go out . So i was surprised that I was cat called by both the Arabs and other ethnicities … till this day I get more men approaching me than when I had my long blonde hair , I still don’t know why and to be honest I wasn’t ready for it heheheh

Oh and by the way !

The barber then admitted to majd that when he said he was going to move the car he was thinking about fleeing the area so he doesn’t cut my hair bahahaha
